Houlder China Insurance Brokers Limited (“Houlder China” or the “Company”) was established on 5th September 2001 with the approval of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission. It is one of earliest insurance broking companies in China authorised to take business from all over the country. It is engaged in a wide range of insurance broking services including property insurance, life insurance, reinsurance and risk management services. Currently, it has offices in Beijing and Guangzhou. The formation of the Company was jointly promoted by 12 financially strong state-owned and private enterprises such as China Merchants Group Limited, China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, China Shipping (Group) Company, Yunnan Xinxing Investment Company Limited, East Hope Group etc. The Company has a registered capital of RMB50 million and is headquartered in Shenzhen.

　　Following China’s entry into the WTO, the Company will be heading in the direction of “Standardisation, Professionalisation, Market-orientated and Internationalization” and will fully capitalise on the strength of its various shareholders to develop the brand name of “Houlder”. The Company will actively participate in the nurture and development of the insurance broking market. It will fully play the role of a professional insurance broker, providing the insuring public with quality and efficient insurance broking service and at the same time contributing towards the growth and advancement of the market.
