  Shenzhen Commercial Bank Company Limited ("Shenzhen Commercial Bank") was established on 22 June 1995. It was the first urban co-operative commercial bank in China and was created upon the transformation of the original 16 urban credit cooperatives in Shenzhen. Its name was changed to the present one in June 1998.

  Shenzhen Commercial Bank is a local joint-stock commercial bank approved by the Head Office of the People's Bank of China and is a financial corporation having the status of an independent legal entity. There is a total of 165 shareholders which are all legal persons, including Shenzhen Financial Bureau. The registered capital of the Bank is RMB 1.1 billion.

  The business objective of Shenzhen Commercial Bank is "complying with the laws and regulations, operating in a reliable way and pursuing sustainable development". The Bank aims to create an image of being "young, energetic and eager to advance". Shenzhen Commercial Bank is the first urban commercial bank in China. It grew up in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and is the bank serving mainly for the people of Shenzhen.

  It has started to form its own distinguishing feature and is able to compete in the market to a certain extent.
